Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles (dry van, refrigerated, or flatbed) according to DOT regulations
- Plan efficient routes while adhering to delivery schedules and time constraints
- Perform pre-trip inspections and basic vehicle maintenance checks
- Document transportation logs, mileage, and delivery paperwork accurately
- Load/unload cargo using appropriate equipment (pallet jacks, forklifts)
- Maintain constant communication with dispatch regarding route status and delays
- Uphold strict safety standards and defensive driving practices
- Represent the company professionally with all clients and partners
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL license (or willingness to obtain during training)
- Minimum 21 years of age with clean driving record
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Basic math skills for weight distribution and log calculations
- Strong attention to detail and time management abilities
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varying weather conditions
- Commitment to safety and compliance with transportation regulations
- Willingness to work flexible schedules including weekends/holidays
