Responsibilities
- Operate commercial trucks and heavy equipment safely and efficiently in accordance with all traffic laws and company policies.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the vehicle is in safe operating condition.
- Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment, ensuring proper weight distribution and securing loads according to safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic logging device (ELD) records and daily logs.
- Adhere to strict delivery schedules and time windows while maintaining high levels of customer service.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and team members regarding route changes or delays.
- Keep the vehicle interior and exterior clean and organized at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required.
- Current Medical Certificate (DOT Medical Card) is mandatory.
- Minimum of 1 year of verifiable driving experience (preferred for entry-level, but we consider qualified candidates).
- Clean driving record with no major traffic violations or DUI convictions in the past 5 years.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screen.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
- Strong commitment to safety and attention to detail.
- Basic computer literacy for logging and paperwork.
