Responsibilities
- Safely Operate Vehicles: Transport freight across local and regional routes while strictly adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Vehicle Inspections: Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the commercial vehicle is in peak operating condition.
- Load & Unload: Securely load and unload cargo using proper lifting techniques and handling equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks).
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of duty status (logbooks) and delivery paperwork in compliance with DOT standards.
- Maintenance Reporting: Report any mechanical issues immediately to maintenance to ensure fleet readiness.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally with customers and clients during pickups and deliveries.
Qualifications
- CDL Class A License: Must possess a valid, unrestricted Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A.
- Driving History: Clean driving record with no more than one minor moving violation in the past 3 years.
- Eligibility: Must be at least 21 years old and pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical and drug screen.
- Communication Skills: Strong ability to communicate clearly via two-way radio and mobile devices.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly and stand for extended periods.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to paperwork and cargo verification.
