Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles to transport goods within NYC metropolitan area
- Perform pre-trip inspections and maintain accurate vehicle maintenance logs
- Adhere strictly to DOT regulations, traffic laws, and delivery schedules
- Load/unload cargo with proper handling techniques and equipment
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and warehouse teams
- Document delivery status and resolve any delivery discrepancies promptly
- Participate in ongoing safety training and certification programs
Qualifications
- Valid New York State CDL Class A or B license (or willingness to obtain through our program)
- Clean driving record with no major violations in past 3 years
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening requirements
- Basic knowledge of NYC traffic patterns and delivery zones
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate loading equipment
- Strong time management and problem-solving skills
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Flexibility for early morning, evening, and weekend shifts
