Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles to transport goods and materials across designated routes
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation as per DOT regulations
- Load/unload cargo with proper handling techniques and equipment operation
- Adapt to varying traffic conditions and weather challenges while maintaining delivery schedules
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and clients regarding delivery status and issues
- Participate in ongoing safety training and equipment certification programs
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required
- Clean driving record with no major violations (DUI, reckless driving, etc.)
- Ability to pass DOT physical examination and drug screening
- Basic mechanical knowledge to perform routine vehicle checks
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety protocols
- Flexibility to work variable shifts including early mornings, nights, and weekends
- Willingness to travel within North Carolina and surrounding regions
- High school diploma or equivalent required
