Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles (tractors and trailers) following DOT regulations
- Plan efficient delivery routes while adhering to scheduled timelines
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and documentation
- Load/unload cargo with proper handling techniques
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and mileage records
- Communicate effectively with dispatch team and clients
- Adhere to all safety protocols and defensive driving practices
Qualifications
- Valid North Carolina driver's license
- Ability to obtain Class A CDL within 90 days of hire
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Basic math skills for load calculations and documentation
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
- No major moving violations in past 3 years
- Willingness to work weekends and overnight trips
- High school diploma or equivalent required
