Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial delivery vehicles (Class A or B CDL required) on assigned routes throughout Austin and surrounding areas.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with DOT regulations and safety standards.
- Load and unload freight securely using appropriate equipment, ensuring cargo integrity during transport.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, delivery receipts, and electronic logging devices (ELD) in strict accordance with regulations.
- Provide exceptional customer service by handling delivery inquiries professionally and resolving any issues promptly.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety protocols at all times.
- Conduct daily vehicle maintenance checks and report mechanical issues immediately.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is required.
- Current Medical Examiner's Certificate (MEC) is mandatory.
- Clean driving record (MVR) with no major violations within the last 3-5 years.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
- Physically capable of lifting heavy loads (up to 50 lbs) and standing for extended periods.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to meet strict delivery deadlines.
- Basic computer literacy for logging and navigation systems.
