Responsibilities
- Operate commercial tractor-trailers and delivery trucks on designated routes within New York and surrounding regions.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety compliance and report any mechanical issues.
- Load and unload cargo using forklifts, pallet jacks, and manual labor as required.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records and adhere to all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Practice defensive driving techniques to ensure the safety of passengers, cargo, and the general public.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams and clients to ensure timely delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Keep the cab and cargo area clean and organized.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) issued by the state of New York. (Entry-level candidates accepted with willingness to complete paid training).
- Current Medical Examiner's Certificate (DOT Medical Card).
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to work independently.
- Valid Commercial Driver's Manual and basic mechanical knowledge.
