Responsibilities
- Operate dump trucks efficiently to transport materials such as dirt, gravel, sand, and asphalt to and from job sites.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in safe operating condition.
- Maintain accurate logbooks and documentation as required by DOT regulations.
- Follow all safety protocols and traffic laws to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your crew.
- Unload materials at designated sites using proper techniques to prevent spillage and damage.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and site supervisors regarding job progress and any issues encountered.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience operating dump trucks or heavy haul vehicles.
- Current DOT medical card and DOT physical.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
- Strong knowledge of local San Jose roads and traffic patterns.
- Excellent mechanical aptitude for basic vehicle maintenance.
