Responsibilities
- Operate dump trucks to transport various materials, including soil, sand, gravel, and asphalt, to and from construction sites.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety compliance and report any mechanical issues immediately.
- Secure loads properly to prevent shifting or accidents during transit.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours and mileage in compliance with DOT regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and site supervisors to coordinate schedules and delivery locations.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies at all times.
- Keep the truck's cab and bed clean and organized.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record (no DUIs or major violations within the last 3 years).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience driving dump trucks or heavy commercial vehicles.
- Experience operating hydraulics and dumping mechanisms is highly preferred.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
- Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and safety standards.
- Physical ability to climb in and out of the cab and handle heavy loads.
- Basic computer skills for logging and reporting.
