Responsibilities
- Operate heavy dump trucks to transport loose materials (sand, gravel, dirt) to and from job sites.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical safety and compliance.
- Secure loads properly and adhere to weight limits and road regulations.
- Maintain accurate daily logs (DOT/ELD) and submit necessary paperwork on time.
- Practice safe driving habits to minimize risk and ensure the safety of the crew and public.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and site supervisors regarding delivery times and route changes.
- Keep the truck cab and bed clean and organized.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with the appropriate endorsements.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable experience operating dump trucks.
- Must pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws, safety regulations, and cargo securement.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physical labor.
- Must be able to read and understand maps and GPS navigation systems.
