Responsibilities
- Operate dump trucks safely and efficiently to transport various materials (soil, gravel, asphalt, debris) to and from job sites.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the truck and trailer are in optimal operating condition.
- Load and unload materials carefully to prevent damage to equipment and property.
- Maintain accurate daily logs and records in compliance with DOT regulations and company policies.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, site supervisors, and crew members to ensure smooth operations.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and safety protocols at all times.
- Report any mechanical issues or accidents immediately to management.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A with a clean driving record (no major violations in the last 3 years).
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable experience driving dump trucks or heavy haul vehicles.
- Ability to pass a DOT physical examination and drug screen.
- Strong understanding of weight and balance regulations for dump trucks.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to work independently.
- Basic mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor vehicle issues.
- Must be able to pass a background check.
