Responsibilities
- Safely operate dump trucks and heavy equipment to transport construction materials (soil, gravel, asphalt, etc.) to designated sites.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety compliance and equipment functionality.
- Secure loads properly using tarps, straps, and chains to prevent shifting during transit.
- Maintain accurate daily logs (ELD) and adhere to all Department of Transportation (DOT) and company safety regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and site supervisors regarding load status and delivery schedules.
- Unload materials using hydraulic lifts or manual labor as required by the job site.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements (Hazmat and Tanker preferred).
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable experience driving dump trucks or heavy hauling equipment.
- Clean driving record with no major violations in the past 3 years.
- Ability to read and understand traffic signs, maps, and delivery orders.
- Physically fit and capable of lifting heavy objects and operating controls in all weather conditions.
- Must pass a background check and drug screen.
