Responsibilities
- Operate dump trucks and heavy haul vehicles safely and efficiently on various job sites.
- Load and unload construction materials, including soil, rock, sand, and asphalt, using manual or hydraulic methods.
- Maintain accurate daily logs (DOT/DMV) and ensure all vehicle documentation is up to date.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the truck is in safe operating condition.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, company safety protocols, and environmental regulations.
- Communicate effectively with site supervisors and crew members to coordinate logistics.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable experience driving dump trucks in a commercial setting.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical and drug screen.
- Strong knowledge of truck controls, loading procedures, and safety regulations.
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions and stand for extended periods.
- Basic mechanical skills to troubleshoot minor mechanical issues.
