Responsibilities
- Safely operate dump trucks and hauling equipment on various job sites, including residential, commercial, and industrial areas.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle and cargo safety compliance with DOT regulations.
- Load and unload materials (sand, gravel, asphalt, etc.) using skid steers, forklifts, or hand tools as required.
- Maintain accurate logbooks and electronic logging devices (ELD) in accordance with FMCSA regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and site supervisors regarding delivery schedules and load requirements.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and safety protocols to minimize risk and ensure the safety of the crew and public.
- Keep the truck clean and perform routine maintenance tasks as directed by management.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driverβs License (CDL) required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience operating dump trucks in a professional setting.
- Demonstrated ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws, safety regulations, and proper loading/unloading procedures.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in various weather conditions.
- Must possess a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) with no major violations.
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and perform physical tasks associated with loading and unloading.
