Responsibilities
- Operate dump trucks to transport loose materials (sand, gravel, asphalt, concrete) to and from job sites in the Chicago metro area.
- Perform thorough daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical safety and DOT compliance.
- Load and unload materials securely using standard loading equipment and hydraulic lifts.
- Maintain accurate records of driving hours, mileage, and vehicle condition in the electronic logging device (ELD).
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, OSHA regulations, and company safety protocols.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, site supervisors, and clients regarding delivery schedules and route changes.
Qualifications
- Clean Class B CDL with Tanker endorsement (Highly preferred) or a current valid Class B CDL.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable experience driving dump trucks or hauling heavy loads.
- Strong knowledge of standard operating procedures for heavy truck operations and safety regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret maps, GPS systems, and delivery orders accurately.
- Physically fit and capable of climbing in and out of the cab; ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.
- Must pass a background check, motor vehicle record (MVR) review, and drug screen.
