Responsibilities
- Safely operate delivery vehicles to transport packages and goods to residential and commercial destinations throughout Virginia Beach
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation, including proof of delivery and mileage records
- Provide exceptional customer service during interactions, including resolving delivery inquiries and concerns
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure operational safety and compliance
- Optimize delivery routes using GPS technology to maximize efficiency and meet tight deadlines
- Assist with loading/unloading procedures and proper handling of temperature-sensitive or fragile items
- Collaborate with dispatch team to communicate delivery status and address route challenges proactively
Qualifications
- Valid Virginia driver's license with clean driving record (no DUIs or major violations in past 3 years)
- Minimum 1 year commercial driving experience or equivalent delivery background
- Ability to lift packages up to 50 pounds and operate in various weather conditions
- Strong knowledge of Virginia Beach geography and surrounding areas
- Excellent time management and organizational skills with attention to detail
- Professional communication skills with ability to represent Coastal Express Logistics positively
- Flexibility to work mornings, afternoons, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Pass background check and drug screening as required by company policy
