Responsibilities
- Safely operate delivery vehicles and transport packages to designated locations within Chicago city limits
- Maintain accurate delivery records and obtain customer signatures for proof of service
- Perform pre-trip inspections and report vehicle maintenance needs promptly
- Optimize routes for efficiency while adhering to traffic laws and delivery schedules
- Load/unload packages using proper techniques to prevent damage
- Communicate delivery status and exceptions to dispatch team in real-time
- Represent the company professionally through courteous customer interactions
Qualifications
- Valid Illinois Driver's License with clean driving record (no major violations in 3 years)
- Minimum 1 year professional driving experience or equivalent training
- Ability to lift packages up to 50 pounds regularly
- Strong knowledge of Chicago streets and GPS navigation systems
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Excellent time management and problem-solving skills
- Pass background check and drug screening requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
