Responsibilities
- Safely operate delivery vehicles following all traffic laws and company protocols
- Load, unload, and verify cargo contents with meticulous attention to detail
- Optimize delivery routes using GPS technology to ensure timely arrivals
- Provide exceptional customer service during deliveries and route interactions
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation for each shipment
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness
- Collaborate with dispatch team to resolve delivery exceptions proactively
Qualifications
- Valid Class C driver's license with clean driving record (no major violations in 3 years)
- Minimum 1 year professional delivery or commercial driving experience
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly and operate manual/automated pallet jacks
- Proficient with smartphone navigation apps and basic route planning tools
- Strong time management skills with ability to meet strict delivery windows
- Excellent communication abilities for customer interactions and team coordination
- Pass background check and drug screening as per company policy
- Knowledge of Virginia Beach area streets and preferred routes
