Responsibilities
- Operate tractor-trailers to transport freight between New York distribution centers and regional destinations
- Maintain meticulous electronic logs (ELD) and adhere to FMCSA regulations
- Inspect, clean, and perform basic maintenance on assigned vehicles
- Coordinate with dispatchers for efficient routing and delivery schedules
- Ensure secure loading/unloading of specialized freight (temperature-controlled, hazmat)
- Document delivery exceptions and maintain accurate paperwork
- Provide exceptional customer service during transit stops
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL with minimum 2 years OTR experience
- Clean MVR (no major violations in past 3 years)
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Proficient in ELD systems and basic GPS navigation
- Strong knowledge of NYC traffic patterns and regional highways
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate in various weather conditions
- Flexible schedule including nights/weekends as needed
- Remote residency within 200 miles of NYC hub preferred
