Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles on dedicated OTR routes across the continental US
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and maintain accurate vehicle maintenance logs
- Adhere to strict DOT regulations, HOS compliance, and company safety protocols
- Load/unload freight using appropriate equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, forklifts)
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and warehouse personnel
- Document delivery receipts and resolve minor shipment discrepancies
- Represent Apex Logistics with professionalism in all customer interactions
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL or ability to obtain one through our paid training program
- Minimum 21 years of age with clean driving record (no DUIs in past 5 years)
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Willingness to travel overnight (2-3 weeks on the road, 2 days home weekly)
- Basic math skills for weight calculations and documentation
- Strong work ethic and commitment to safety excellence
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally and operate basic warehouse equipment
