Responsibilities
- Operational Excellence: Safely operate commercial motor vehicles over long-distance routes in accordance with all applicable laws and company policies.
- Maintenance: Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in safe operating condition and report any defects immediately.
- Freight Handling: Load and unload freight securely, ensuring cargo is protected from damage during transit.
- Documentation: Accurately complete and maintain all required logs, delivery receipts, and bill of lading paperwork in compliance with DOT regulations.
- Communication: Maintain clear communication with dispatch, shippers, and receivers to coordinate timely deliveries and resolve any logistical issues efficiently.
- Compliance: Adhere strictly to safety protocols and company procedures to ensure the safety of yourself, your cargo, and the public.
Qualifications
- CDL Requirement: Valid Commercial Driver's License (Class A) required.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of verifiable OTR driving experience preferred.
- Driving Record: Clean driving record (MVR) with no more than 2 moving violations in the past 3 years.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to pass a DOT physical examination; ability to lift and move cargo weighing up to 50 lbs; ability to sit for extended periods.
- Documentation: Must possess a current Medical Examiner's Certificate (MEC).
- Availability: Willingness to travel and work flexible hours as required by operational needs.
