Responsibilities
- Safely operate company vehicles to transport packages, medical supplies, and time-sensitive documents across Detroit and surrounding areas
- Plan efficient routes using GPS navigation while adhering to traffic laws and safety protocols
- Verify delivery accuracy, obtain signatures, and maintain detailed delivery logs
- Provide exceptional customer service during client interactions and resolve delivery issues proactively
- Perform pre/post-trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance needs promptly
- Coordinate with dispatch team to optimize delivery schedules and communicate delays
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of company vehicles and delivery equipment
Qualifications
- Valid Michigan driver's license with clean driving record (no major violations in past 3 years)
- Minimum 1 year commercial driving experience or equivalent delivery background
- Ability to lift and carry packages up to 50 pounds regularly
- Strong knowledge of Detroit metropolitan area and surrounding counties
- Proficient with smartphone navigation apps and basic delivery tracking systems
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Professional communication style and customer service focus
- Ability to work independently while following safety and compliance procedures
