Responsibilities
- Safely operate company vehicles to transport packages, medical supplies, and legal documents throughout Washington DC metropolitan area
- Plan optimized routes using GPS technology to ensure on-time deliveries while adhering to traffic regulations
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, obtain recipient signatures, and report any delivery discrepancies
- Perform pre-trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance needs promptly
- Provide exceptional customer service with professional communication and problem-solving skills
- Coordinate with dispatch team for real-time route adjustments and priority deliveries
- Secure packages during transit and ensure proper handling of temperature-sensitive items
- Adhere to all DOT regulations and company safety protocols at all times
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driver's license (Class A/B) with clean driving record (no major violations in 3 years)
- Minimum 2 years professional driving experience in urban delivery environments
- Thorough knowledge of Washington DC streets, traffic patterns, and parking regulations
- Ability to lift packages up to 50 pounds and operate in various weather conditions
- Strong time management skills with ability to meet strict delivery deadlines
- Excellent communication skills and professional phone etiquette
- Pass background check and drug screening as required by DOT
