Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial van vehicles to deliver packages and freight to designated residential and commercial locations.
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper weight distribution and securing items to prevent damage.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety compliance.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, DOT regulations, and company safety policies at all times.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the delivery vehicle.
- Interact professionally with customers, handling inquiries and complaints with a positive attitude.
- Accurately log mileage and delivery records in the company management system.
Qualifications
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean driving record (no more than 2 points).
- Current and valid DOT Medical Card.
- Minimum of 1 year of verifiable driving experience (logistics/delivery preferred).
- Strong knowledge of New York City streets, landmarks, and traffic patterns.
- Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50+ pounds repeatedly throughout the shift.
- Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused mindset.
- Reliable access to a personal vehicle for shifts requiring local travel.
