Responsibilities
- Operate commercial trucks (Class A) to deliver freight safely and on time to designated locations in the Detroit metro area.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety compliance and report any mechanical issues immediately.
- Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment, ensuring all freight is secured properly for transit.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records and all required documentation (bill of lading, delivery receipts).
- Adhere to all DOT regulations, traffic laws, and company safety policies at all times.
- Interact professionally with customers and dock personnel to ensure high levels of satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A with a clean driving record (MVR).
- Minimum of 1 year of verifiable commercial truck driving experience preferred.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Strong understanding of cargo securement and DOT safety regulations.
- Basic computer skills for logging and paperwork management.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
