Responsibilities
- Operate commercial trucks (Class A) in a safe and efficient manner to deliver freight to designated locations on time.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety compliance and report any mechanical issues.
- Load and unload cargo securely, adhering to weight restrictions and safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate logs (ELD) and all required documentation, including bills of lading and delivery receipts.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, and company policies.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and any delays.
- Keep the truck and trailer clean and organized at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable experience driving Class A commercial trucks.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Strong understanding of traffic laws, safety regulations, and cargo handling procedures.
- Excellent time management and problem-solving skills.
- Basic computer literacy for logging and reporting purposes.
- Ability to lift and carry moderate amounts of cargo when necessary.
