Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial Class A vehicles to deliver freight on time and in perfect condition.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety compliance.
- Maintain accurate logs (DOT compliant) and electronic logging devices (ELD).
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, shippers, and receivers regarding schedules and delivery issues.
- Observe all traffic laws and safety regulations while operating the vehicle.
- Unload freight using appropriate equipment (forklift, pallet jack, etc.) when required.
- Report any vehicle maintenance issues or safety hazards immediately to management.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable Class A driving experience.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Willingness to cross state lines and work varying shifts.
- Strong knowledge of road conditions and cargo securement procedures.
- Basic computer literacy for logging and paperwork.
