Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks and trailers over various road conditions and terrains.
- Load and unload cargo using forklifts and hand trucks, ensuring proper weight distribution and securing.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with DOT regulations.
- Maintain accurate logbooks and electronic logging device (ELD) records in accordance with FMCSA guidelines.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
- Adhere to all company safety policies, traffic laws, and hazardous material handling procedures when applicable.
- Keep the truck cabin and cargo area clean and organized at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) issued by the state of Texas.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination and drug screen.
- Ability to obtain a Medical Examiner's Certificate (MEC) if required for the specific cargo.
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws, road signs, and safe driving practices.
- Basic computer literacy for electronic logging and documentation purposes.
- Willingness to undergo a background check and motor vehicle record (MVR) review.
