Job Overview
We are currently expanding our fleet in the Detroit area and are looking for drivers who take pride in their work. As a Route Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of freight to various customer locations throughout the metro area.
Responsibilities
- Operate commercial vehicles in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Load and unload freight accurately, ensuring proper securement and weight distribution.
- Prepare and inspect delivery documents, including bills of lading and delivery receipts.
- Perform routine pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety compliance.
- Provide exceptional customer service during pickups and deliveries.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the vehicle and the loading dock area.
- Report any vehicle maintenance issues or accidents immediately to management.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience.
- Must pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Must possess a clean driving record with no major traffic violations in the last 3 years.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs repeatedly.
- Strong communication skills and problem-solving abilities.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends or holidays if necessary.
