Responsibilities
- Operate commercial trucks and heavy equipment to transport goods safely and timely.
- Inspect the truck for mechanical issues and ensure all safety requirements are met before departure.
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper weight distribution and securing loads.
- Complete all necessary delivery paperwork and logbooks accurately (DOT regulations).
- Maintain a clean driving record and adhere to all traffic laws.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery times and any delays.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable driving experience in a similar role.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws, DOT regulations, and safety procedures.
- Basic mechanical skills to perform routine pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
- Physically fit to handle loading and unloading tasks and long hours on the road.
