Responsibilities
- Operate Commercial Vehicles: Safely drive and operate Class A trucks (Van, Reefer, or Flatbed) to deliver cargo on time and in pristine condition.
- Pre-Trip & Post-Trip Inspections: Conduct thorough inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety compliance and identify any mechanical issues before departure.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate electronic logging devices (ELD) and complete all required shipping and receiving paperwork accurately.
- Cargo Handling: Safely load, secure, and unload freight using appropriate tie-downs and equipment.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally with customers and brokers at delivery points to ensure satisfaction and resolve any issues efficiently.
- Route Planning: Plan efficient routes to avoid delays and ensure adherence to all traffic laws and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL Class A License: Must possess a current and valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A issued by the state of Indiana.
- Clean Driving Record: Must have a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) with no more than one moving violation in the past 3 years.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of verifiable Class A driving experience preferred.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical exam, including lifting requirements (up to 50 lbs).
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to operate a radio or mobile device while driving.
- Time Management: Ability to manage time effectively to meet strict delivery schedules and deadlines.
