What You Will Do
As a CDL Driver for Apex Freight, your primary focus will be safe, efficient transportation of goods across the state and beyond. You will be representing our brand and ensuring our clients receive their cargo on time and in perfect condition.
Responsibilities
- Operate commercial trucks (Class A CDL) safely and efficiently on highways and local roads.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Load and unload cargo securely, adhering to weight restrictions and safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate driver logs (DVIR) and electronic logging device (ELD) records.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery times and route changes.
- Adhere to all Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSA) and company policies.
- Keep the truck cab and cargo area clean and organized.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 1 year of verifiable driving experience (OTR or Local).
- Current Medical Examiner's Certificate (MEC).
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screen.
- Strong knowledge of Illinois roadways and traffic laws.
- Excellent customer service skills and a professional attitude.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
