Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks and tractor-trailers on various roadways, including the DC/NC corridor.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle and cargo safety compliance.
- Load and unload freight efficiently, adhering to safety protocols and weight regulations.
- Maintain accurate logs (DOT 3070) and documentation regarding hours of service and mileage.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, company policies, and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and any delays.
- Ensure the security and integrity of cargo during transit.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL Class A) with a clean driving record (MVR).
- Minimum of 1-2 years of verifiable truck driving experience.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screen.
- Strong knowledge of North Carolina and Washington DC traffic laws and routes.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform manual tasks during loading/unloading.
- Excellent communication skills and a professional demeanor.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays if required.
