Responsibilities
- Operate commercial trucks in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the truck is in optimal operating condition.
- Load and unload cargo securely, ensuring freight safety during transit.
- Maintain accurate logs and documentation (Electronic Logging Device - ELD) in compliance with FMCSA regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
- Represent the company professionally at all times, maintaining a clean and organized vehicle.
Qualifications
- Must possess a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A.
- Must have a clean driving record (MVR) and be insurable under company standards.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) drug screen and background check.
- Willingness to attend paid CDL training programs for entry-level candidates with a valid CDL permit.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to meet strict delivery deadlines.
- Basic mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor vehicle issues is preferred.
