Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A tractor-trailers on regional routes throughout Southern California
- Execute precise loading/unloading operations using power tailgates and pallet jacks
- Maintain electronic logs (ELD) and DOT compliance documentation
- Perform pre/post-trip inspections and basic preventative maintenance
- Communicate with dispatch via Qualcomm systems for real-time route adjustments
- Deliver time-sensitive freight to distribution centers, ports, and warehouses
- Represent Pacific Coast Transport with professional conduct at all client sites
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL with clean driving record (3+ years verifiable experience)
- Current DOT medical certification and TWIC card preferred
- Proven expertise in handling reefers, flatbeds, and dry van trailers
- Strong knowledge of California highway systems and port regulations
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and operate loading equipment safely
- Excellent time management with consistent on-time delivery performance
- Fluent English communication skills for client interactions
- Pass comprehensive background check and drug screening
