Responsibilities
- Operate commercial vehicles in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the vehicle is in safe operating condition.
- Load and unload cargo securely, ensuring proper weight distribution and cargo securement.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic logging devices (ELD) and delivery documents.
- Navigate complex routes and delivery schedules in the New York metropolitan area.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding pickup and delivery times.
- Uphold a professional image and represent the company positively at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A required.
- Current Medical Examiner's Certificate (DOT physical) on file.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable Class A driving experience.
- Clean driving record (MVR) with no DUIs or serious traffic violations in the last 3 years.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
- Strong time management skills and ability to meet strict delivery deadlines.
- Physically capable of lifting, pushing, and pulling cargo weighing up to 50 lbs.
