Responsibilities
- Operate commercial motor vehicles safely and efficiently on designated routes throughout Tampa and surrounding areas.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with DOT regulations and safety standards.
- Secure cargo properly to prevent damage and ensure safe transit.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records and all necessary shipping documentation.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety protocols.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and potential delays.
- Unload freight at delivery locations and obtain necessary signatures or proof of delivery.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A.
- Current DOT Medical Card (Medical Examiner’s Certificate) on file.
- Minimum of 1 year of verifiable Class A driving experience preferred.
- Clean driving record (MVR) with no more than two moving violations in the last three years.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) drug screen and criminal background check.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to meet tight delivery deadlines.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
