Responsibilities
- Operate commercial trucks safely and efficiently on designated regional and interstate routes.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure DOT compliance and vehicle safety.
- Load and unload cargo utilizing appropriate equipment, ensuring proper weight distribution and security.
- Maintain accurate records using Electronic Logging Devices (ELD) and ensure all paperwork is completed per regulations.
- Adhere strictly to all Department of Transportation (DOT) safety regulations and company policies.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and any delays.
- Practice defensive driving techniques to minimize risk and ensure cargo integrity.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A required.
- Clean driving record (no more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years).
- Must be at least 21 years of age for interstate driving.
- Ability to work night shifts (typically 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM).
- Must possess a valid Medical Examiner's Certificate (DOT Physical).
- Prior experience with dry van, flatbed, or tanker freight is preferred.
- Strong time management skills and ability to meet strict delivery deadlines.
