Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial Class A trucks over various routes within California and neighboring states.
- Load and unload cargo using proper equipment, ensuring weight distribution and securing loads.
- Complete all necessary daily and weekly vehicle inspections, pre-trip, and post-trip reports accurately.
- Adhere strictly to all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety policies.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the truck cab and cargo area at all times.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery status and any delays.
- Document mileage, fuel consumption, and toll expenses accurately in the electronic logbook (EOBR).
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A with a clean driving record (no more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years).
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable Class A driving experience within the last 5 years.
- Current Medical Examiner's Certificate (DOT Medical Card).
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws, DOT regulations, and cargo securement procedures.
- Must possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Basic mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor vehicle issues on the road.
