Responsibilities
- Operate Class A commercial motor vehicles safely and efficiently over assigned routes.
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper weight distribution and securing freight according to safety standards.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Maintain accurate logs and records, including Electronic Logging Device (ELD) usage and delivery manifests.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers to coordinate delivery schedules and resolve any issues.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience preferred.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Strong knowledge of local and regional traffic patterns in the Kansas City area.
- Basic mechanical skills for minor vehicle troubleshooting and maintenance checks.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
