Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial Class A trucks on regional and long-haul routes in Ohio and New York.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with FMCSA regulations.
- Load and unload cargo securely using proper equipment to prevent damage.
- Manage electronic logging devices (ELD) accurately, ensuring HOS compliance and adherence to all traffic laws.
- Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor while representing the Apex Freight brand.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and route changes.
- Adhere to strict safety protocols and company policies at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required (MUST be current).
- Clean driving record (MVR) with no preventable accidents in the last 3 years.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Basic math skills for making change and managing fuel logs.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to work independently.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, based on business needs.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
