Responsibilities
- Operate commercial vehicles safely and efficiently on highways and local routes.
- Inspect vehicles prior to and after trips to ensure mechanical safety and DOT compliance.
- Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment, adhering to safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate logs (ELD) and paperwork as required by federal and state regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery status and issues.
- Ensure the cargo is secured and protected during transit.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL Class A License issued by the state of Maryland.
- Minimum of 1 year of verifiable commercial driving experience (preferred).
- Current Medical Examiner's Certificate (DOT physical).
- Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) with no major violations in the last 3-5 years.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
- Strong understanding of traffic laws, safety regulations, and cargo securement.
- Basic mechanical aptitude for routine vehicle maintenance checks.
