Responsibilities
- Operate commercial trucks (Class A CDL) safely and efficiently to deliver freight to designated locations.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Load and unload cargo securely, ensuring proper documentation and handling of freight.
- Maintain accurate logs (ELD) and maintain a clean driving record.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company safety policies at all times.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
- Report any mechanical issues or safety hazards immediately to the maintenance department.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) issued by the state of North Carolina.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience preferred.
- Current DOT Medical Card.
- Pass a background check and drug screen.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Ability to read and interpret maps, delivery orders, and traffic regulations.
- Strong commitment to safety and time management skills.
