Responsibilities
- Operate heavy-duty tractor-trailers (Class A CDL) to deliver freight safely and efficiently across the Northeast region.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with FMCSA regulations.
- Load and unload cargo using forklifts or hand trucks, ensuring weight distribution and cargo security.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records and manage delivery paperwork accurately.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety protocols at all times.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and any issues.
- Perform routine vehicle maintenance checks and report mechanical issues immediately.
Qualifications
- Valid US Commercial Driver's License (Class A) with a clean driving record (MVR).
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable Class A driving experience in the last 3 years.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) drug screen and background check.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Strong knowledge of FMCSA regulations and Hours of Service (HOS) rules.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed.
- Basic computer literacy for electronic logging and communication.
