Responsibilities
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety compliance and vehicle readiness.
- Operate commercial trucks and trailers efficiently, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Load and unload cargo securely using proper material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, forklifts).
- Maintain accurate records using Electronic Logging Devices (ELD) and daily logs.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers to ensure timely deliveries.
- Ensure the cargo is secured and protected against damage during transit.
- Report mechanical issues or safety hazards immediately to fleet management.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or Class B CDL license (Georgia Class A or B required).
- Minimum of 1-2 years of verifiable driving experience (Preferred for Class A).
- Clean driving record (MVR) with no serious traffic violations.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical exam and drug screen.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Strong availability for night shifts (e.g., 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM).
- Basic mechanical knowledge and problem-solving skills.
