Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks and vans to deliver cargo to clients in the Washington DC metro area.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with DOT regulations.
- Load and unload freight efficiently while ensuring cargo security and safety.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records and hours of service (HOS).
- Adhere to all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies at all times.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery status and any delays.
- Keep the vehicle interior and exterior clean and presentable at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with the required endorsements.
- A clean driving record with no serious traffic violations in the last 3-5 years.
- U.S. Citizenship or valid legal right to work in the United States.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening.
- Strong navigation skills and familiarity with GPS systems.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy packages weighing up to 50 lbs occasionally.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays if necessary.
