Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class 8 tractor-trailers for local and regional routes
- Adhere to DOT regulations and maintain accurate electronic logs
- Perform pre/post-trip inspections and basic preventive maintenance
- Coordinate with dispatch for efficient load management and on-time deliveries
- Build strong client relationships through professional communication
- Maintain clean driving record and compliance with all safety protocols
- Utilize GPS navigation for optimal route planning
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL with clean driving record (no DUIs in past 5 years)
- Minimum 2 years verifiable tractor-trailer experience
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Familiarity with DC metro area and Mid-Atlantic highways
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varying weather conditions
- Excellent time management and problem-solving skills
- Basic knowledge of cargo securement and hazmat procedures
