Responsibilities
- Operate Class 8 tractor-trailers to transport freight within DC metro area and Mid-Atlantic region
- Adhere to strict DOT regulations and safety protocols during all operations
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation using electronic logging devices
- Perform pre/post-trip inspections and report maintenance issues promptly
- Coordinate with dispatch team for efficient route optimization and on-time deliveries
- Provide exceptional customer service during loading/unloading operations
- Manage hazardous materials shipments when required with proper certifications
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years of verifiable tractor-trailer experience
- Pass DOT physical examination and drug screening
- Familiarity with Washington DC traffic patterns and delivery restrictions
- HAZMAT certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
- Strong knowledge of FMCSA regulations and safety standards
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various weather conditions
- Excellent time management and communication skills
