Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles for regional deliveries within Washington DC and surrounding areas
- Adhere to strict federal DOT regulations and local traffic ordinances
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and basic vehicle maintenance checks
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and electronic logging system
- Provide exceptional customer service during client interactions
- Collaborate with dispatch team to optimize delivery routes and timelines
- Ensure secure handling of specialized freight including government materials
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years verifiable tractor-trailer experience
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening requirements
- Familiarity with Washington DC metropolitan area roadways
- Strong time management and route optimization skills
- Basic understanding of electronic logging device (ELD) systems
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally and operate loading equipment
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
